Through these experiences he learned husbandry, water quality, disease, treatment, and disease prevention of aquatic species: ornamental fish, aquaculture fish, elasmobranchs (sharks and rays), invertebrates, marine mammals, aquatic reptiles, and aquatic birds.

Dr. Martinez has a great interest and love of aquatic species and believes aquatic species deserve a high quality of care that is seen by our terrestrial small animals.
